The Minnesota Roller Derby regular season ended with two thrilling, hard fought bouts. Roller Vortex, looking for their first win of the season against undefeated Wednesday Warnings, displayed tremendous heart and led the bout until the very last jam. But the Warnings dug deep and put up 28 unanswered points to keep their perfect season intact.

The second bout between Bodies of Water and the Maul Rats was just as exciting, with the lead changing hands back and forth, throughout,  but Bodies of Water held on at the end to claim the victory.

Here are the season’s final standings.

Wednesday Warnings  3-0

Bodies of Water              2-1

Maul Rats                     1-2

Roller Vortex                 0-3

With the regular season concluded, the playoffs begin and all four teams have a shot at winning the Golden Skate. The semifinal seedings have been determined by the season ending standings, and will be rematches of January’s bouts. Wednesday Warnings have to be favored to win it all, but all four teams have shown they have the grit and ability to win.

The playoff action heats up at Roy Wilkins Arena Saturday, February 18th. Make plans to attend and cheer on your favorite team. With fans in the stands, the evening promises two rock ‘em, sock ‘em bouts of exciting roller derby action.
